Research; Colour Survey Results
I recently released a survey onto social media to gain responses in regards to how colours relate to emotions and feelings. I recieved 79 respondants which were mostly positive (there were some "silly" answers too unfortunately). The answers were similar, though there were a few connections between colour and emotion that I hadn't expected. The colour 'beige' was mentioned a few times which I hadn't thought to include in the answer choices.
The results are all available via the following link;
But to make it simpler, I have listed the most popular colours for each emotion below with the numbers of people that selected them, and these are the main colours I will experiment with when I paint.
- Love: Red (47), Pink (17)
- Happiness: Yellow (48), Orange (7), Blue (7), Purple (7), Green (4)
- Anger / Hate: Red (35), Black (25)
- Sadness: Blue (28), Grey (27)
- Scared: Black (16), White (13)
- Alone / Lonely: Grey (32), Blue (17), White (17)
- Confidence: Red (18), Purple (12), Green (10), Orange (10)
- Freedom: Green (24), White (19), Yellow (9), Blue (9)
- Neutral: White (25), Grey (17), Brown (14)
- Safe / Protected: Green (16), Orange (15), Pink (10), Blue (8)

Research; Trend Predictions for SS17
I've been looking on WGSN for the predicted Spring Summer '17 trend predictions, and I will work from these as a basis for my designs.
