CAD/CAM
Using
CAD/CAM to draw and grade patterns is a much quicker way than doing it by hand,
especially on a large scale. It would therefore be possible to have basic block
patterns in CAD which you could input measurements and it would automatically
change the pattern shape to suit each body.
Proper
Suit: Measurements and specs go to China where pieces are cut using auto-CAD
and a laser cutting system. Shipping trade to companies where labour is cheaper
brings down the overall cost of the suit, however these suits don’t have the
precise details that bespoke suits have, such as hand stitched lapels and functioning
buttonholes on the cuffs, though most men probably do not bother about these
details anyway. The additions that Proper Suit offer are a rubberised strip in
the waistband of the trousers to help keep the shirt tucked in and extra fabric
sewn around the inside of the hems of the trousers to avoid wear.
