I initially was going to do my project around lacing because I do like the aesthetic, however, upon doing research, I found it's extremely common at the moment as it's 'on trend' and that's not really something that correlates with tailoring. I want to create 4 pieces that are classic and timeless, so basing my idea on something that is a fast fashion trend (and upon reflection, can look a bit cheap and tacky when not executed properly) isn't exactly a strong idea. Having said that, I did do a few samples and some designs before I decided to bin the idea, though it did lead me into a new idea which has developed to become the idea I'm rolling with. Every cloud.
