So almost going back to the lacing idea I previously mentioned, I looked at maybe doing some sort of mix of cross stitch and lacing. I only did a few designs because for one thing, the embroidery thread wouldn't be strong enough to work as lacing and also I had already discounted this idea so I didn't want to seem like I was going backwards.
